Contained in the files named "Recycle Icons" are replacement icons for the Finder's Trash can. These icons will replace the Trash with the standard recycle icon. The idea for these icons came from pictures of the NeXT computer screen. The icons were created from scratch, however.
System 6.0 Instructions:
----------------------
To install these icons, MAKE A COPY of your Finder, open this copy and the "Recycle Icons for 6.0" file in ResEdit. Copy the ICN#'s from Recycle Icons and paste them into the Finder. If you are using SunDesk, IconColorizer, or some other such icon-colorizing program (such as System 7.0), copy the ICL8's into the appropriate file if you want a colorized Recycle Icons. Replace the current Finder by moving it from inside your system folder to elsewhere on your hard drive. Then move the modified Finder into the system folder. Once you restart, you can throw the Finder at the Recycler.
System 7.0 Instructions:
----------------------
To install these icons, MAKE A COPY of your System, open this copy and the "Recycle Icons for 7.0" file in ResEdit. Select all of the types of icons that you want installed (ICN# and ics# for black and white Macs; all kinds of icons for color Macs), and copy them. Then paste them into the System. Replace the current System by moving it from inside your system folder to the trash. Then move the modified System into the system folder. Once you restart, you should empty the trash to get rid of the original system. (If you want to keep it, put it on a separate disk first, but do not leave it on the hard drive, as it is a bad idea to have two System files on one hard drive.)
